Questions
The court says an answer is generally due within 30 days after service, and it must be served on the plaintiff or their attorney. Check the papers you received, because some cases have shorter deadlines.
The answer form depends on the case type. The court lists form PLD-C-010 for Answer-Contract, and points to form PLD-050 for a general denial with instructions to confirm it fits. We prepare the form you direct us to prepare.
A fee waiver is requested on form FW-001. The court says a person qualifies by receiving public benefits, having income below the form's limit, or being unable to pay basic needs along with court fees. We prepare the request from your details.
The plaintiff can ask the court to enter a default, which may let the court make an order without hearing from you. Because that can have serious effects, check the deadline right away. We cannot advise on your case.
No, we are not attorneys and cannot give legal advice or appear in court. We prepare the forms you direct. If you want an attorney, the court's self-help center can explain how to find one.
