Yes, the court says parents may make their own plan, called a stipulation, which becomes a court order once both parents and the judge sign it and it is filed. If parents cannot agree, the court refers them to family court services for mediation.
The court says a plan may include a schedule of days, times, weekends, holidays, and vacations, along with transportation, pick-up and drop-off, limits on travel, and counseling or treatment services. You choose what goes in, and we prepare it as you direct.
The court describes form FL-355, Stipulation and Order for Custody and Visitation, signed by both parents. Form FL-341 holds the schedule and the children's details. The plan can also be written on separate paper attached to FL-355.
Yes, the court says a judge must sign the agreement before it is filed. Once it is filed, it is a court order that both parents must follow.
No, we cannot recommend a schedule or give legal advice. Some family court services offices publish sample schedules, which you can read yourself. We type the schedule you and the other parent choose.
